This extensive online library online library is an excellent online and paper writing resource.  With an extensive search function that is able to link to books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and encyclopedias, this site is a one stop shop for research and information.  You can search by a variety of methods including keyword, title, author, subject, and publisher.  This site is an excellent premiere resource for Kansas history from reconstruction, the civil rights, and more.  There are different subscription levels to choose from, and a basic search is free to all users.

This source is sponsored by the Kansas Historical Society and covers several key components of the Civil Rights movement in Kansas - including notable events in the state of Kansas, landmark court cases, and notable men and women who shaped Kansas history.   There are currently 1,903 articles on the site and that number grows each year.  This site allows indivduals to submit submissions of work for consideration to be included on the site.

This source is sponsored by the Kansas Historical Society and contains primary sources in the form of photographs, pamphlets,articles, newspapers, videos, illustrations, and art related to multiple aspects of Kansas history (which can be easily accessed from the search bar at the top of the page).  Each entry has a brief explanation detailing the contents and content is added throughout the year to ensure a plethora of resources.

This extensive website is hosted and maintained by the Civil War Trust and offers a plethora of information and data about the pre and post Civil War and the Reconstruction era.  Here you can search for battlefields, maps, view photos in multiple formats and learn about preserving American battlefields.
